Hello.
I've been using VirtualDubMod and instead of making small videos I decided to record a long one and then use the Segment output file feature to cut them while processing. However they came out blurry and the beginning and the video/audio is really out of sync. Is there any way to fix this?

Hi!
There is nothing in the process of saving as segments that should affect either the clarity or synching of the video...
What is the format (video and audio) of the source material?

It's an .avi video.
I used DSclaer to record it and then VDubMod to compress it. I use MGEG Layer 3 (56k) for the audio and Xvid MPEG-4 codec for the video.

1) Did you play the original Dscaler-created .AVI, in order to observe the quality of the image and check the synchronization?
2)I use MGEG Layer 3 (56k) for the audioCBR or VBR?

1)The DScaler file is fine. In fact I wanted to make smaller videos with better quality but this problem ocurred, so I made it whole with worse quality and it went ok with perfect sync.
2) I don't know, I don't see anything similar when choosing options, how do I check it? In case there's a default option then that's it.
Edit: I don't know if this also helps, but I set it to make 100MB segments and it made it about 90MB instead.

Try using the newest version of vdub (not mod) instead. It sounds like VDM is splitting on non-key frames, which breaks the video, and isn't properly correcting the sync.
Most likely it's the fhg encoder that comes with windows. CBR but with a huge bit reservoir. You can try Lame ACM (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/LAME_ACM_Codec.htm) to allow much higher bitrates (and quality at the same rates), and more compliance for splitting.

I have a question? How do I compress sound from the normal VDub? Normally I use the Streams options on VModMod, but that option isn't at the normal VDub.

Audio->full processing, then Audio->compression. Set it to wave audio if you need to load one, instead of using the script's/avi's.

I made another attempt, again I set it to make 100MB segments and it instead made 90MB ones. I used the LameMP3 codec and it wasn't de-synced however at the beginning of each video it was blurry. LameMP3 also takes a lot more space.
Please help! How do I make it do what I want!
