Does anyone have any information about the built-in resizer in VMR or whatever advanced renderer Vista ships with? Is it still bilinear?

The VMR doesn't do the resize, the video driver gets to pick how it renders. But they still use bilinear anyway, unless you specifically force it to bicubic with a pixel shader. As far as I know no one's mentioned the 8800 having a better resizer - which is lame, that beast could do EDI in real time.

Oh, you mean EVR? Not sure, but I believe it's still bilinear. >(

That is silly, IMO. How much more intensive could a bicubic filter be? We have very fast CPUs now.
