Avast- it is free and works with Windows XP Pro 64bit

After reading through most of the thread my temporary (90 day) subscription to Norton expired. :eek: So since I'm cheap at heart but don't want no stinking virus I downloaded and installed the free version of Avast. It's worked fine so far, I think (hope). Thanks for the input.:)

I use AVG 7.5. It simply does the job right, and it's free.

Since independant tests have shown time and again that the free malware solutions just dont compare to the payware ones, I doubt the validity of people claiming otherwise.
Nod32 or kaspersky is the secure choice.

antivir premium IS the secure choice , for paid
look at last Clementi comparison on av-comparatives
for freeware o good combo is AVS (aol kaspersky) + spyware terminator (hips disabled) + comodo (with application behavior off) + SSM free

I know the first three you're referencing, but what's "SSM"?
