I went thru the process of getting a new dvd/vcr to capture all my old vcr tapes and tried a number of ways to do it on my main computer. specs are amd x2 4800+ | 2gig OCZ ram | Ati HDTV tuner | etc. Needless to say I was not happy with the outcomes, most likely due to the ati HDTV card. I then decided to use my HTPC box. DFI mATX mobo, amd 3200+ ATI 550 Pro tuner, integrated ATI card hooked to my Visio 32LCD thru DVI coverted to HDMI. MCE installed and fully patched. MCE runs fantastic and I purchased a Toshiba SD-V394SU VCR/DVD player. I put in Beastmaster and it comes thru the tuner great (as great as vhs is) and The Good the bad and ugly. Both copy perfect into .dvr-ms files and I converted them to xvid with AutoGK. Which brings me to my problem. I put in Dragonheart and Legend and all I get is white noise. If I pause the vcr I get picture, if I fast forward I get picture. If I slow motion I get picture. If played normally, snow. I was thinking this was a EP SP problem dealing with the speed at which the tape is. But I figured a 1 hour 30 min video would go thru before a 2 hour and 52 min movie like the good bad and ugly, so maybe its not a speed issue. Anyone run into this kind of a problem?
