subtitles, divx container and standalone player

Hi to all!!!:D

I have a strange problem: I try to use the .divx container in order to store all my video so I can have the subtitles in the same file.
I'm using AviSub to join the audio/video streams with the subtitles streams).
In the Pc I have no problem but, when I try to read the .divx files on my standalone player (it is a Scott player, unfortunately actually I don't remember the model) some files show the subtitles stream while other does not (even if the player tells me that there are the subtitle streams) I try to recode the video streams using the last Divx codec but nothin changed:scared:

Can anybody help me?
