I've been using FFMPEG to convert some great PAL .avi files into MPG files to burn onto DVDs. As I'm sure everyone here knows, when the original source material is 24 frames per second from the USA and is converted to PAL, the frame rate is increased to 25 fps resulting in a 4% increase in the speed the audio plays.
Lots of TV stuff on the internet is American programs converted to PAL, and when I convert it back to play on NTSC DVDs the sound speed up is present.
Do any of the encoders that do these conversions have the ability to slow down the sound and convert a NTSC to PAL conversions back to NTSC and yet retain the correct sound playback speed?
Since FFMPEG seems to be updated so regularly, I was hoping such an advancement is possible. Is it?
