View Full Version : Plitting divx4 movies with nandub

Hi,

I have the following problem: Every time i split a large movie (>1gig) into 2 pieces to fit on 2 cd's it has a slight hickup (video pauses for 0.1sec at +/- 1/2second after the start of the second part) in the video-stream at the beginning of the second part. This is very annoying. The A/V synch is good to the end so no problem there.

I use nandub to split the avi because i use lame vbr for my audio encoding. My movies are encoded with GKnot 0.21b using 2pass divx4 (4.02 and now with 4.11). I tried a test run with lame cbr audio: still the same problem. There is no problem if I split only the video stream. The position of the split does not make a difference (although in an action scene it's obviously more visible and annoying)

Could it be a problem with my players (windows media player 6.4 & 7.1 and also zoomplayer v.2.12, 2.11, etc) or is it in the avi? I use an offset only for the final movie (the >1gig file)if neccesary. I interleave the audio every frame. Anyone else with the same problem or perhaps a solution? And BTW I split the way Doom9 describes in his guide. I always split at keyframes.

TIA Jaffa

PS I didn't know where to post this. I have been encoding for quit a while now and I don't think I'm a complete newbie but splitting is such a basic operation that I think others might be having the same problems and come looking for an answer in this section.
