My blacks look washed out with MPC and Coreavc

Nothing changed here with 7.3. Still unprocessed 16..235 videos with vmr9 and needs additional expansion to get fixed.

But i don't care anymore. Its the worst renderer they ever released until it gets fixed.

If you want a good and correctly working renderer use evr. Correct colorspace conversion and rock solid (dedicated settop box like) timing. KMPlayer is one of the first players that supports evr yet.

I think the ATi drivers do that only on Windows XP and not on Vista atm.

Color conversion is not dependent on evr or vmr9, it done only in drivers so don't blame these particular renderers. Seems that on vista it isn't fixed yet. Maybe ati decided not to change interface for vmr9 (dxva 1.0) and focus on evr (dxva 2.0).

That's true Wozio. And not just ATi, NVIDIA hasn't fixed it on Vista either.
