Quick Question Regarding A Removed File After Ripit4me

Just checking a little something. I just ripped The Ringer with the latest ripit4me and fixvts, but after checking theres two files missing

VTS_02_0.VOB
VTS_03_0.VOB

Both original files are 0 bytes, having these removed is'nt going to cause playback issue's is it?

I know it will remove the last bogus VTS on some movies like fun with dick and jane.

No, any reference to them will have been removed from the IFOs, too.

The files have no purpose.

Nero tends to complain otherwise - at least in the past.

The better method is to use smart gaps with VobBlanker (http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm), which puts actual tiny VOBs in place which ensure, as much as possible, the IFO and BUP are radially as far away from each other as possible on the DVD.

Modern DVDs usually have filler VOBs of about 358kb - I guess to provide some spacing.

so this smart gap option change's the two files i mention from 0bytes to having a file size. If so im guessing i use that after decrypting so it will add the two files back ?

Is there not a option in ripit4me to stop it deleting those two files ?

Use it just before burning. See the thread in IFO/VOB Editors on VobBlanker (http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm) 2.1.3 first release.

There is an option in RipIt4Me to delete useless menu files. But, this will not give you any gaps since the files are 0kb. Better to delete them and apply the correction in VobBlanker (http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm) right at the end.

I test vobblanker with the smart gaps option but in does'nt seem to add those files back with a small file size , is this normal ? i dont actually know as i have never used it before, does it just pad the ifo ?

None of the file size's of any of the files seemed to change.

The gaps are only useful when the total size of ALL VOBs of a VTS is less than a certain amount. Therefore, VobBlanker creates the dummy VOB cells only in some rare cases (for example when the user has blanked everything in a VTS.)

VIDEO_TS.VOB is more frequently a candidate for the gaps, as it contains usually only some studio logos or fbi warnings, often removed by the user or automatically during the rip, and there are no title VOB files in the VMG domain.

Just run the vobblanker like blutach said but out of the 4 0.Vobs deleted by ripit4me vobblanker has only replaced two of them but not the other two.

Im guessing that if vobblanker does'nt add anything back then the 0.VOB is not need period and will have no effect one playback.

It will adjust when needed. If the gaps are big enough already, no adjustment will be made.
