Now i did ask about something like this before a long long time back, but that i did'nt get working and seen as the development of tools etc.. i was wondering how to do something.
Im backing up a dvd i want to just a video at the beginning but dont know how, it goes language selection -> aint piracy warning -> standard dvd message. Im going to blank the anti piracy video but i need to know how to edit the ifo's so that it does'nt try and play the now blanked footage so the dvd does'nt need to do any extra seeking. I know how to jump straight to menu but not how to jump one video.
The language selection is in video_ts.vob then the warning im going to blank and skip is in vts_03_01.vob then the warning message i want to get to... well i have'nt found it yet.
Being able to do this will be good for movies that go -> studio logo -> trailers -> menu.

You can simply Kill PGC Playback with PgcEdit, or blank the cell with VobBlanker (with the option to copy post to pre-commands.) In both cases, most of the time, the playback of the PGC is skipped completely.
You can also use PgcEdit's Jump to PGC Upon DVD Insert to go straight to a specific menu or title when the DVD is inserted.

Cool, so with the first two methods you mentioned i dont have to do any tracing etc... like i do when jumping to a specific menu, i just make sure copy post to pre-commands is selcted in vobblanker although i can only see change post to precomm safely or always.
By using ether of these two methods my dvd player wont search back and forthas its going through the title sets.

Well, it's not so simple. The original authoring might jump to several PGCs in the VMGM and various VTS before playing the first really useful PGC. That can cause many seek operations, and killing the playback is not sufficient, but as the VOBs are not read at all, it's better than the original situation.
The Jump2PGC method skips (almost) everything and go straight to the target PGC. But you have to trace to the target before applying the function. Don't worry, it's easy! Of course, the Jump2PGC method is not suitable to skip the PGCs if you want to keep something before them. You can only use it to skip everything before the target. Try it, and you will understand...

I dont wish to jump straight to on pgc skipping the others as theres stuff before and after i want to keep.
Basicly what i would like to do is go from
language selection -> aint piracy warning -> warning message
to
language selection -> warning message
or say
studio logo -> trailers -> menu.
to
studio logo -> menu.

Then, use the Kill Playback function on the PGCs you don't want to keep. After that run Tools --> FixVTS (current domain)

Yes, killing playback is the only automatic method (at least for now.) It is possible to skip everything between two points using the trace, but it's not easy! Maybe I'll write another function to do that, but in the meantime, use blutach's suggestion.

Nice cheers. The PGC im killing is in its own VTS, should i kill the menu for it aswell or just the PGC ?
After running FixVTS should i save dvd so it gets vts sectors ? as it does this before FixVTS has run.
Last question, would it be better to do this with all files untoched, then blank then video footage with vobblanker afterwards. Then create a .iso and the go trough the big 3 method like normal. Or would it be fine do demux with dif4u then kill PGC(what i blanking wont be demux) then vobblanker then carry on with scenaid as normal.
Second method should work fine, just checking.
update. just check, did'nt notice before that the vob is now 10kb, so i guess FixVTS done that.

Nice cheers. The PGC im killing is in its own VTS, should i kill the menu for it aswell or just the PGC ?No need to kill the menu, although if it has no buttons, you can do it safely.
BTW, to kill all titles (or all menus) of a specific domain, it is faster to use Blank Out All PGCs of the current domain. This function has one advantage: it replaces the VOBs with a single tiny black cell. No need to process the domain with FixVTS or VobBlanker to regain the disc space.
After running FixVTS should i save dvd so it gets vts sectors ? as it does this before FixVTS has run.That's usually what I do, but it's required only if you need the 32KB padding (aka 32K gaps) between IFO and BUP.

update. just check, did'nt notice before that the vob is now 10kb, so i guess FixVTS done that.FixVTS removes the unreferenced cells, and leaves only the cell that has been added by Kill Playback. Again, using Blank-Out all PGCs instead would have given the same result directly.
Since I don't use the big3 method, I cant reply to your question, but IMO it is always better to remove the unnecessary stuff before reencoding or transcoding.

Cheers, i gave Blank Out All PGCs a bash and it works nice. The option for kill playback when using it, to i tick the safe option or the unconditionally option.
Both this and the kill method, they just jump straight to what i want right, they wont cause the dvd player to seek back and forth quickly as is going past what i skipped does it ? cant really tell when playing on the pc.

As explained above, the IFOs of the VTS will still be loaded, and therefore some seeks will still happen. But as the VOBs are not played at all (and therefore not accessed by the player), the number of seeks is much more limited.

OK im with you now. So if there no way to kill the ifos for a vts or are they accessed reguardless.
Aslong as i dont get what i did once(long long time back) where i blanked the PGC's with vobblanker but as now they was just blank and no footage when the dvd played back the player was seeking back and forth like mad untill it go past the blanks where the trailers was. I suspect this was because the playback was killed so it still tried playing them even though they was'nt there.
