Good Day all

I capture many SKY HD broadcasts to my harddrive for later viewsing, i like to XviD the video. Now im thinking i should compress the audio too. Less space more movies :)

Anyways i strip the RAW audio (PCM i believe) and try to convert it to AC3 (384) using belight but the channels appear to come back in the wrong order.

The Centre channel is coming from the forward right for example?

Am i missing some obviouse setting (as i usually do) or is the an error in my method of compression.

Thanks
Dave

You should make sure the WAV your encoding has the right multichannel WAV order: L-R-C-LFE-SL-SR

Cheers.

I capture many SKY HD broadcasts to my harddrive for later viewsing. This is interesting.... With the exception of BBC HD, all the other Sky HD channels are encrypted.

Anyways i strip the RAW audio (PCM i believe) and try to convert it to AC3 (384) using belight but the channels appear to come back in the wrong order.UK DVB-S broadcasts with 2Ch audio are MP2/MPA. Broadcasts with 6Ch audio are already AC3.

your right, it was ac3, but me being the berk i am i forgot to demux it before directshowsource frame seving it to Vdubmod. so Vdub recived the sound as PCM.

anyways all fixed
