View Full Version : Xvid Custom Quantization Matrices List?

Before anyone says anything, I searched pretty hard for a list of custom matrices for XVID ONLY. I am personally looking for a low bitrate CQM, but would like a definative list where I could possibly download the matrices.

Thanks

I don't know a list for most of the matrices but quite a few come with koepis xvid build. Beyond that LigH offers a zip file with more matrices in his Custom Matrix Editor Thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=73666&highlight=jawor).

Last but not least have a look at the Sharktooth's EQM V3 series (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=83125) and searching around the forum for example jawors 1cd matrix is also useful.

Thanks Kurt. I was already familiar with CQME and it is a really cool tool. None of the versions of CQME came with any matrices. I do have a pretty good list here: http://tehru.org/sxgz/matrices/

But I wasn't sure, since most of these are for mpeg1/2, if they are suitable for xvid. I am able to convert many of them with CQME to an xvid matrix.

Also, when I convert them from CCE to XVID, the numbers change drastically. For example:

Angel's best low CCE

8, 16, 19, 22, 26, 27, 29, 11
16, 16, 22, 24, 27, 29, 34, 99
19, 22, 26, 27, 29, 34, 34, 99
22, 22, 26, 27, 29, 34, 37, 99
22, 26, 27, 29, 32, 35, 40, 99
26, 27, 29, 32, 35, 40, 99, 99
26, 27, 29, 34, 38, 99, 99, 99
27, 29, 35, 38, 99, 99, 99, 99

16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 99
17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 99
18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 99
19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26, 99
20, 21, 22, 23, 25, 26, 99, 99
21, 22, 23, 24, 26, 99, 99, 99
22, 23, 24, 26, 99, 99, 99, 99
23, 24, 25, 99, 99, 99, 99, 99

And when converted to xvid I get, which is weird cause it's only one set of numbers:

 8, 16, 19, 22, 26, 27, 29, 11
16, 16, 22, 24, 27, 29, 34, 99
19, 22, 26, 27, 29, 34, 34, 99
22, 22, 26, 27, 29, 34, 37,

And this is what CQME automatically converts it to, which is different from the original:

8, 32, 56, 44, 32, 49, 54, 44
32, 49, 57, 44, 32, 50, 50, 44
32, 50, 54, 44, 32, 50, 55, 44
32, 50, 57, 44, 32, 49, 49, 13
10, 32, 49, 54, 44, 32, 49, 54
44, 32, 50, 50, 44, 32, 50, 52
44, 32, 50, 55, 44, 32, 50, 57
44, 32, 51, 52, 44, 32, 57, 57

13, 10, 32, 49, 57, 44, 32, 50
50, 44, 32, 50, 54, 44, 32, 50
55, 44, 32, 50, 57, 44, 32, 51
52, 44, 32, 51, 52, 44, 32, 57
57, 13, 10, 32, 50, 50, 44, 32
50, 50, 44, 32, 50, 54, 44, 32
50, 55, 44, 32, 50, 57, 44, 32
51, 52, 44, 32, 51, 55, 44, 32

Am I doing something wrong here?

Hi,

I'm far from being an expert on CQMs, but I've attached my collection to this post (hope the attachment appears soon). Those are the ones that come with Koepi's build + all I've gathered here by searching through some related threads (sweat, blood & tears gathering them ;) ).

I've tested about 15 of them so far - all work fine, accordingly to my expectations.

Hi,

Thanks for the effort. Attachment may need a certain time to be approved; so in the meantime could you make a list of the included CQM?

Already approved ;)
Some are doubled, I've just marked, mainly Sharktooth's matrices, so instead of 77 there's like 70 of them at the most. Starting from semi-insane or Sharktooth's V3 UHR, and ending with matrices like Jawor's 1CD or Soulhunter's V8.

Good luck with those, whatever you plan to encode :)

There's 114 files. A few are my own creations. So don't expect anything from them.

My personal favorites are,
Fox Home Entertainment
HCLow
Didees SixOfNine-HVS

:thanks:

Now everyone looking for CQMs doesn't have to search and collect them one by one.
