DVD Shrink vs DVDX Copy tools

I would like to know what the difference between compressing using DVDShrink and programs like DVDX Copy tools are. I have an older panasonic dvd player that dvd that are compressed using DVDShrink work completly fine, while the dvds that are compressed using DVDX Copy Tools play the first 4 seconds of each chapter.

Different compression programs use different navigation instructions in the .IFOs that they create, to facilitate playback.

As I and others have discovered, not all standalone players interpret these instructions in the same way...
