lets say that i have an HDTV movie on my computer..
and in order to watch it i connect the computer to an HDTV supported television (42 inch)
wiil i make use of all the available quality of the file? or that depands on the computer it self?
memory,video card,cpu and so on..

if you connect the computer via DVI lead you should be able to get the full resolution picture, providing your TV is capable of the same resolution as the source.
Conecting TV via S-Video will limit you picture quality and resolution.

Well, it depends on two things
1) Can your computer play the file smoothly?
2) What kind of interface will you use to connect the HDTV to the PC?
If the answer to 1 is yes, and the answer to 2 is component (R, G, B) or DVI then yes, you will be able to faithfully display the movie. As rumpleforeskin mentioned, S-Video or (gasp) composite will not transmit the full quality - only SD.
