Hi everybody, I use my xbox360 to see WMV HD videos on my fullHD tv (sharp 46XD1E) and I have some problems with those videos which are in 1440x1080 because on the xbox they appear in a bad 4:3 aspect instead of the correct 16:9 aspect.
I read some posts about changing the pixel aspect ratio but the problem for the xbox seems to be the resolution. Infact if I play a hd video in 1920x1080 there is no problem.

So I would like to know if is possible to make a .WMV video of 1920x1080 with PAR 1:1 starting from a .WMV video 1440x1080 with PAR 4:3 without re-encoding.

I hope I have explained correctly my problem (sorry for my english but i'm italian)
I wait for your replies... thanks a lot

The XBox 360 dashboard player does currently not respect the PAR settings from the WMV metadata. If you don't want to reencode, you have to wait for an update.

Alegedly the issue is fixed and the fix will be included in the next flash update. (I have not tried it yet).
