Hi!

Just wondering what processor do people have to nicely play 1080 AVC1 encoded files, I currently have an athlon64 3500+ (slightly overclocked to 2.32Ghz), I can play 720 AVC1 vidz without problem, but 1080 is choppy =/

Which processor (AMD socket 939, I don't intend to change my platform soon) do you recommend to decode 1080 vidz smoothly? And btw, does FFDSHOW take advantage of dual-core proc's? Just in case I can buy an X2 proc.

FFDShow does NOT take advantage of dual core CPUs.
Try with CoreAVC, it should play it without problems, but be aware the newer version has an activation "feature"...
The Cyberlink decoder, instead, is able to use the VideoCard hardware h.264 acceleration...

Whoa! Niiiiiiiiice! Now it runs smoothly (with coreAVC) with a little processor time to spare :D !
