I searched and only found brief comments referring to Nero Soundtrax. So, has anyone seriously used Soundtrax to try and create 5.1, 6.1, or 7.1 output from a stereo source?
I can't seem to understand what input Soundtrax is looking for and what the export selection should be. The "help" file only offers explanations for importing audio files and never discusses the features of outputing surround sound in any format.
Thanks.

I have used it on occasion to create an interleaved multichannel file. In that case you must import separate mono files that make up your surround sound file.
There is very limited capability for creating a multichannel file from a stereo source, other than you can double click an imported stereo (or mono) file and it will open in the Nero
Wave Editor, which contains a few functions, and does support most VST's.
Normally I create my surround sound files with Plogue using
the guides on dtsac3.com .
