Cyberlink decoder doesn't show x264 encoded video?

Has anyone experienced this? The Cyberlink decoder doesn't show any video when playing a x264 encoded video, while CoreAVC has no problems doing that. The Cyberlink decoder plays Apple's H.264 HD trailers just fine though.

EDIT: This only seems to happen with a MPEG container. I encoded a short video clip twice using x264 with StaxRip. The first one uses a MP4 container, and second one uses a MKV container. The with one MKV container plays fine, but the one with the MP4 container has no video (using Cyberlink). Some kind of splitter problem perhaps?

which mp4 splitter are you using? which filters are used when rendering the mp4 in graphedit?

I'm not sure which mp4 splitter is being used. I know it's not Haali, as Haali icon doesn't come up in sys tray. I did try Haali in GraphEdit though, and get the same result with Cyberlink decoder.

How do I find out what splitter is being used? GraphEdit doesn't show you visually.

It shows a H.264 video in a MOV container, but the rendering path is identical for a MP4 or MKV container.

The only option is "filter properties", and when I click on it, it says "The requested property page cannot be displayed."

Yep, looks like that's it. I unregistered it with DirectShow Filter Manager. MP4 container files no longer open, WMP gives an error message.

I downloaded Gabest's MP4 Splitter which allowed me to open MP4 container files once again. However, I still get no video with Cyberlink decoder.

The problem is the .MP4 it surely has the ISO brand then Cyberlink wouldn't play it only AVC1 works :)
also the start code can be problematic happens with Sat Recordings sometimes Cyberlink is very harsh with what it plays and what not

try creating your .mp4 via mp4creator, not mp4box(StaxRip used). maybe CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder didn't like mp4box.
IIRC ffdshow had a similar problem long ago.

Edit:try latest mp4box build by celtic_druid(http://tirnanog.fate.jp/mirror/gpac/dev/MP4Box.7z), seems CyberLink like the new mp4box build.

jep the newest is fine the older one had problems, bond you see it was a problem with mp4box as i said in the other threads ;)
so i hope you understand why i don't trust mp4box now finaly, also the IO writing problem is a funy thing under rare circumstances like IO read problems it can happen that x264 output in .mp4 becomes damaged, .mkv and .h264 output is more reliable in those situations.

Did cyberlink DxVA supports ati x800xt, because i can't turn thst option on, in config i checked, but decoding 1080 video is very slow. Any idea

Cyberlink decoder support perfectly PureVideo (I use this codec with DxVA enable -> 7600GT). Anyway, I believe that only serie X1x00 (for ATI) support h264 accell, X800XT haven't hardward support.

DxVA disables deblocking and thats incorrect according to the H.264 decoding specs. It's also a cheap trick to speed up things.

That's right, only cards that have AVIVO support H.264 decoding, and that means X1000 series.
