Nice. Now you won't have to decide.

LG Electronics (LG), a leader in consumer electronics and mobile communicati ons, announced that it will launch the world's first dual-format high-definition disc player, capable of playing both Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD content. The unit will be released in the United States in early 2007. Details will be provided at the 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), held January 8-11 in Las Vegas.

Nice, I hope for BluRay part it will be Specification II (with Java and weblink).

If somebody can say what it's the video decoder inside (Broadcom,
SigmaDesign, STMicro,...).

All chipset support well only H264 but not the other formats.
Why some players are late (T...), or some format don't have a good quality
(the quality is no good on decoded picture, not on the disc...).

Great. Once I can get a dual format player for under $200 I will get it :)

Broadcom makes a chip that can support both BluRay and HD-DVD, so from that standpoint this is certainly feasible. However, everything I have heard is that part of the BluRay licensing agreement, which Sony controlls, states that no player that is licensed to play BluRay may play HD-DVD. That's what I and others have heard, so either that's not true or LG has found an interesting workaround to get around this.
