Problem with PGCedit & menu buttons

Hi guys,
I have a little problem with menu buttons on my backup copies. I usually get rid of the extra contents and languages except for Italian and English then I hide the related buttons.
Sometimes happens that not edited buttons are not shown during the playback of the disc on a DVD player. On the contrary, no problem playing the DVD file on the PC. I tryed Power DVD, preview of PGCedit/Ifo edit, WM player, VLC and Sonic Cineplayer as players. For instance, in the backup of ICE AGE 1, I want to leave only the button related to the short movie of Scrat and "back to the main menu" of course, in the extra contents menu. I tryed first to hide the other buttons with NOP and then with Jump to.. The result is that "Scrat" button is not shown on normal DVD players while "back to main menu" is OK. I found a similar problem in the bacup of "Wallace & Gormit".

The best way to hide buttons is to use hide and jump to non-deleted button. That way, whenever the button is highlighted pressing it will jump to something that is not deleted.

I usually leave the unwanted buttons in but replace their commands with Link Top Cell. That way, they are always visible. I suppose this is no different to not doing anything with the buttons :)

Take care with Ice Age 2. There is an easter egg button that appears near the end of the main menu, in a logo in the bottom right corner. If you edit somehow the main menu and save it, you might lose that button.
Editing the bonus menu should be safe.

Anyway, it seems that your problem is not related to the easter egg. But I don't understand your problem, as I have never seen that. Have you also used another tool (MenuShrink, DVD-Remake, ...)?

No, it's not related to easter eggs.
Bluetach the problem is not on unwanted buttons but on buttons that should be there but I can't find playing the disc on a DVD players.
I checked the backup copy on 2 different dvd players and 1 DVD recorder but from the same manufacturer (Pioneer).
The strangest thing is that everything works fine on PC.
It's quite frustrating because I can see the problem only after the disc is recorded therefore every new attempt of editing takes a long time.
I've just got DVD Remake Pro from a friend,I'll trywith it and I'll let you know the result.

The problem might also be caused by wrong adjacent buttons after the hide button operation. PgcEdit tries to reconnect the remaining buttons automatically, but it may fail in some cases. You have to verify if all buttons are still reachable with a remote. You can test that when you are in the menu viewer or editor with the cursor keys of the keyboard. Of course, on a PC, all buttons can be reached with the mouse.

And I agree with r0lZ - sometimes, you can't move from a button. You need to check this when you edit menus. That is one reason I don't actually hide the buttons sometimes.

DOH! I didn't know that! Holy crap, that will make testing DVDs a lot simpler... there have been a few times that a DVD I've worked on got to the "test in a standalone player" stage, before I realized that the button navigation was off.

BTW, sorry, many features of PgcEdit are somewhat hidden! I should stop developing it to take the time to write a manual. But I don't like that too much, and my english is limited.

Sort of a late post, but... Blutach, can you try hiding in DRMP when you encounter such situation next time? Algorithm used in DRM should not create disjoint groups of buttons (unless they were in original menu). I will be really interested to see a menu for which it does not work.

Sure thing Dimad. I should add that I haven't experienced this effect with DVDRMP but if I do, will report it to you.
