x264 default codec setting - can't open!

Hi

I've installed:

DVD Decrypter
GordianKnot Rippack
GordianKnot Codec pack
x264 codec (think i installed it, but I don't know, just ran the x264.exe-file, is there something else i need to do?)

Anyway, when I'm about to config first pass codec setting för x264 codec, nothing happens :(

x264.exe doesnt work with gordianknot. use megui or any other similar gui

Gordian Knot work with VFW codec (as XviD, DivX, On2...), using the old way of encoding. The same as AutoGK

X264.exe is a command line encoder (as xvid_encraw.exe) and must be used from dos box

There are several gui for encoding with those new codec (or new way of encoding), AutoMKV, MeGui, StaxRip...

Look around in Mpeg4 Gui Forum

And if you want absolutely encoding in vfw (even is deprecated, not compatible, ugly hack.. and more over...) with x264... you must install Death The Sheep build of x264VFW (look in Mpeg4 forum , avc section)

I'm having the same problem. I'm following the guide for x264 encoding and i too cant seem to open the gui settings.

I've downloaded this file called x264gui.zip .

x264gui.zip is outdated and no more developped

if you want to use x264 WITH GordianKnow you MUST use the x264vfw build of Death The Sheep

X264 is a CODEC, a GUI can be used for configuration or encoding... depends on its pourpose....

The ONLY GUI of X264.exe is http://ffdshow.faireal.net/mirror/x264/x264gtk.revision584.7z , but remember this is a Graphic User Interface within X264.exe (and you need also the gtk package)

Other software can use x264, read posts above and use search
