While encoding a DVDRip to x264 I am finding that my audio is always about 1 minute or so behind the actual film.
Steps taken to rip the DVD-
1. DVDDecrypter
2. DGIndex
3. Create .avs
4. Encode audio to AAC. Now here I have tried many different ways hoping it would fix it. I have decoded the .ac3 to .wav then used FAAC commandline to encode to .mp4. I have used the megui encoder (AAC Nero) as well.
5. Encode video to raw .264
6. I tried to mux to .mp4 many many times both with megui and mp4box command line.
Now DGIndex stated in the .ac3 file name that the audio had a -16ms delay. So obviously on the first mux I specified an audio delay of -16ms in the megui mp4 muxer. This did not help as the audio is WAY behind the video.
So I decided to try and use AC3 Delay Corrector and specified the -16ms delay to the .ac3 file and had it fix it. Reencoded audio to AAC again then muxed with video. Exact same problem. Audio is still behind by about 45 seconds to a minute.
The source VOB files I have on my hard disk play fine with no audio problems. Am I missing something here? How does a -16ms delay cause audio to be almost a minute behind? And this is at the very begining of the movie.
