Hi
Ive been reading up on "bad ivtc" but cant figure one thing out.

All the examples Ive been reading have been using NTSC-sources. Is "bad ivtc" nothing to worry about when working with PAL-sources?

bad inversed telecine We appear to have a failure to communicate here, but I'll play along.

OK, what do you mean by "bad inversed telecine". Please note, I do know what IVTC is.

PAL sources can contain all kinds of messed up stuff, for example from poor conversions from NTSC. In the absence of a definition of the phenomenon that you refer to, it's not possible to answer you. That is why I ask you to explain your term.

Please quote the specific section here. I don't have time to read the whole thing hoping to find what you are talking about.

There is no pulldown used for PAL, so IVTC doesn't apply, but as I said, you may have something weird like a pulled-down NTSC film that was deinterlaced and then blend-converted to PAL. You have to analyze your particular source and not rely on rigid recipes.
