I have TV shows on DVD that I've ripped to my computer and now am trying to reencode them. They're 4:3 off the DVD and regardless of what options I set in AutoGK(yes I've tried some of the hidden options) it won't give me 720x480 back. If I set the width to a fixed 720 it gives me a width of like 555. How can I lock the aspect ratio?

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Fixed width is not in the hidden options (Ctrl+F9) but in the advanced settings.
What hidden options have you tried?
Can you post your log file?

There were many aspect ratio Q&A in this thread that you can refer to.

Hi-

4:3 is 1.33:1. 720x480 is 3:2 is 1.5:1. The DVD has to be resized for the AVI to play with a proper aspect ratio. 720x540 is correct (or maybe 720x556, depending on what's cropped away). At 720x480, something round like a ball will appear as an oval. At 720x540 it'll be round.

I'm assuming you're not talking about having your player do the resizing after you set the AR in the header.
