dvd shrink problem

I have copied a number of dvds to my hard drive using DVD Decrypter but when I try to shrink any of them I get an error
"Invalid data in VIDEO _TS\ VTS_01__1.VOB"
Can anyone suggets what I can do to get them shrunk/burnt?

Hi,

If you have used the file mode of DvdD and have your actual problems, chances are your movie is heavily protected.

If so, install and try Ripit4me; see specific threads in the decrypting section. If not, use file mode to feed DvdShrink.

If the ripped DVD "packages" play properly from your hard drive (using a DVD software player such as WinDVD, PowerDVD, or VLC Player), the rips are very likely of DVDs containing the simplistic "RipGuard" copy protection.

To remove this protection from the hard drive versions (rather than re-ripping the original DVDs), do the following:

Load the rip into VOBBlanker, set a new output directory/folder, select "Process all" and then press the "Process" radiobutton

Or run them thru FixVTS (www.videohelp.com/~FixVTS) (full DVD), which is part of the RipIt4Me package. But RipIt4Me makes life pretty easy.

But RipIt4Me makes life pretty easy.Unfortunately, "RipIt4Me" works only with actual DVDs (or mounted .ISO image files), and not with hard drive DVD "packages"...

But FixVTS is fine with files on your hard drive. In fact, that's all it works with.

Hello all..I appreciate the opportunity to ask you a question regarding the above thread. I used the fixit4me successfully,then tried to open the file in DVD Shrink which prompts an error message regarding "Invalid Dat in file". It is at this point I am stuck. I tried Nero Recode but it keeps ccrashing. The DVD is SAW3. Can someone offer me some insight into what I am doing wrong? If I am repeating a request I apologize Thank you~:o

Deinstall everything and download RipIt4Me (http://www.ripit4me.org/) from the installer.

This will put FixVTS in the right place.

You need FixVTS 1.6.0.3
