Convert xvid to 3gp

I have a Ericsson k800i and i thought it would be nice to have some movies on it. So i testet a one click conversion program called "WinXMedia AVI 3GP Converter", its very easy to use, but it adds some artifacts and the sound is out of sync. Whats the best way of making 3gp files from xvid movies?

you can create a valid .3gp file from a xvid .avi file without reencoding with yamb/mp4box

i doubt that the resulting file will play on your mobile tough, because it surely only supports simple profile and small resolutions

therefore you will need to find out what video streams your mobile support and than encode in xvid taking the supported settings into account and remuxing the resulting avi to 3gp with yamb/mp4box

I know what settings "WinXMedia AVI 3GP Converter" uses, but i dont know if it uses xvid to encode, also whats a simple profile, and how do i check the files for it?

take a 3gp file supported by your phone and run
1) mpeg4vol
2) mp4box -info
over the file and post the output of those tools

mpeg4vol is part of mpeg4ip

I usually put the xvid encoded clip I want to convert to .3gp into the SUPER encoder program, and then I choose the Sony Ericsson 3gp profile and change the fps and such so it corresponds to the original file.

160kbit on video and 96kbit on audio, works pretty good.

I have a K750 though, so you may increase the bitrates maybe.

Thanks tried the super encoder program, works very good, the clip is in sync, i encode it at 240 kbit, very good picture quality....

One problem, some xvids make the program crashes, i get a crash from a program called meta4.exe (its a program that the superencoder calls) if i uncheck the "User directshow" option it works, but then i cant resize the movie to the correct AR. Do you know what the problem is?

It looks like it only hapens on mp3 encoded xvids, but im not sure..

I also want to split the movie into shorter parts since my phone cant fastforward (not that i know of) i tried a program called avidemux2.exe that does this, the problem is that its very powerfull, i just want a program where i can select an interval, lets say 15 minutes and split the movie into that size....

Ok, now im always done...
I use avs script to add subtitels and then feed Super encoder with the avs file. I dont do the resize in the avs cript i do it in the super encoder (its under Directshow settings). But the problem is that it does not work, it still made to 320x240, how can i force it to the correct Aspect ratio in super encoder?

The directshow settings works if i feed the super encoder with a normal avi
