I'm using MCE 2005 Rollup2 with the Microsoft MCE Keyboard and Remote. I'm also using ffdshow v. 696 (2006-12-15) to decode Xvid files and using the Keys & Remote functionality to turn external subtitles on and off.
When playing the Xvid file the Stop, Play, Pause, Skip and Replay and Back keys work fine on the MCE keyboard and remote. When the video is stopped, the UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT keys do not work. The BACK and other keys such as ALT+F4 to exit works fine. To get the UP, DOWN etc. keys to work I have to quit out of MCE and start it up again.
I also found that disabling the "Keys & Remote" functionality of ffdshow causes all the keys to work properly during and after playing an Xvid file. There seems to be a conflict between the ffdshow "keyboard control" functionality and some keys on the MCE keyboard and remote.
I need to use the ffdshow "keyboard control" functionality to be able to toggle external subtitles on and off with the keyboard/remote.
Has anyone seen this problem before ? Any ideas ?
