View Full Version : Progressively skewed audio track

I have been poking about this forum but I have no seen any topics for it. From time to time I have run into DVD where no matter what I set the final audio gets progressively skew thru out the rip and now I am getting it on a TV capture (same process has worked for a number of other TV captures with no issue and ones after it I even redid the capture thanks to a handy DVR). The skew starts as little as 500ms but by CD2 could be as high as 3-5 seconds. I don’t even know where to start to look for an idea or any way to correct it in vDub. I will post the ripping specs and if anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Ripping goal
CBR 128kpbs MP3 track for a 2 CD rip (700x2) (also note during all instances of the issue there was not frame rate change via pulldown, ITVC, ect. Frame rate never changed and bitrates double check with vDub)

Software
DGIndex (1.4.3)
BeSweet (1.5b30)
GK (0.35)

TV Capture to AVI Process
Moto 3416 (no 5c)->(transport stream over firewire)->D-VHS (v0.3.0.6)->HDTVtoMPEG2->DGIndex->GK->AVI

Hi!I don’t even know where to start to look for an idea or any way to correct it in vDubLoad the file into VirtualDub, VirtualDubMod, or NanDub.
Set BOTH "Video"(VirtualDub,
VirtualDubMod and NanDub) and "Audio"
(VirtualDub and NanDub - VirtualDubMOD>"Streams>"Stream
list") to "Direct Stream Copy".

A) If the difference between audio and video is constant
throughout the video:

From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Interleaving" (For
VirtualDubMOD, rightclick on the listed audiostream and then
select "Interleaving")

Under "Audio skew correction", set an appropriate number of
milliseconds (positive or negative) in the box labelled "Delay
audio track by"

Save with a new filename

B) If the difference increases as the movie plays:

From under the "Video" dropdown menu, select "Framerate" -
and select "Change so video and audio durations match"

Save with a new filename

Let us know of your success ;>}
