View Full Version : why does everything start off in low priority?

Hi,

I've been using AutoGK for a while now with no problems... until now.

For some reason, now whenever anything starts on AutoGK (i.e lame, virtualdubmod dubbing), it goes much much slower than usual, and when I go into task manager, I find that it is always low priority, and so I have to change it to normal (or sometimes Realtime).

Does anyone know why this has started happening and what I can do to fix it?

Thanks

Most likely there are other processes running that eat lots of CPU cycles.

Setting everything to low priority is standard procedure and ensures that you can continue to work on your computer while encoding is running. If you leave your machine alone, encoding performance is hardly affected at all. DO NOT set encoding processes to anything higher than normal, especially not realtime. You could completely lock your system until encoding finishes.
