Just wondering if we will be seeing a new release of GK anytime soon as i still use it for backing up my movies but i think it needs to be updated a bit? maybe a new and improved GUI......?

Gordian Knot will not be updated any longer because a lot of the newer apps no longer support the VfW systems that it uses.

This would require rewriting large parts of the whole application. It's not really worth it.

Try StaxRip - it combines a lot of the best features of Gordian Knot (control) and AutoGK (ease of use), and supports current builds of the apps for encoding.
