avi to mpeg2 programs don't work!

i've been trying to encode my avi's to mpeg2 so i can make them SVCD.

CCE says "can't find appropriate program for 'div3'

TMPG says Video File not Supported or can't be opened

BBMPEG says Audio wrong format or just crashes and windows shuts it down.

please can someone tell me of a program that encodes avi's to mpeg2.

I assume you are trying to convert one specific file, probably divx encoded. If you can't open this file with Vdub or media player, its likely damaged.

But to convert an AVI to SVCD just load into TMPG or frameserve from Vdub to CCE. Apply any appropriate resizing and/or filters.

I would guess it means it can't find the codec. div3 is the fourcc code for DivX 3.11 low motion.

yeah thanks but do you know how i can fix it. i was thinking of doing the audio with tpmg and the video with bbmpeg, but i don't know how to join them. anyuone??
