I like to remove previews and then set the compression so that the movie has the least compression and the remaining extras the most compression. Can all of this be done with rebuilder? Remove titlesets and adjust compression. If so can someone explain how it is done or is there a tutorial about it that can be referenced. I have heard several references to 1/2D1 but have not idea where to access it or how to use it.

I have made backups using Pro but only of the whole DVD.

Select "Use Beta (test) Editor" from the SETTINGS menu and then use the "View/Edit" tab.

I checked the "Use Beta (test) Editor" but could not get the "Preview/Edit" tab to work. What is supposed to happen after you click this tab. I can't find a "View/Edit tab.

which skin do you use?
you have to use rebuilder default skin (first one) to see the new segment viewer. and in any way it's better to rip the DVD to your hardDisk. If you still can't see the titles in the preview editor.... well I guess you have xVid codec installed :-) but that another thread..

Yes, I have the default skin. Where is segment viewer. Do you use the "Preview Edit" tab? It doesn't function. I tried viewing a DVD that was ripped to the hard drive but that one doesn't work either. Do you have to start the backup for this? I am trying to delete titlesets. I have learned how to access the "half-D1" from the mode tab but don't know how to delete titlesets such as previews. Can that be done? I also am having a hard time understanding what "xVid codec" is and what that has to do with the segment viewer. I have convertxtodvd installed on my computer.

I have been reading the help contents. I have read the section "Video Segment Viewer/Editor". It states "This editor (following the PREPARE PHASE) allows you to view....

What is the PREPARE PHASE and how does that get initiated. I have checked "Use Beta (test) Viewer/Editor and checked Half-D1 and Half Space for Extras. What do I do next. Do I click the "backup" tab? Does that start the PREPARE PHASE and will the Video Segment Viewer then automatically start at some point. I can't get this understanding from the help contents.

1. after you ripped DVD to your hard drive (I recommend ripit4me to do the rip for you), open DVD-RB and choose the folder where your DVD was ripped. (source path) on the left side.

2. go to "mode" in the menu toolbar above uncheck the "one click mode"

3 now you should see 3 buttons below where only the left one "prepare" is enable. click on it.

4. let DVD-RB do it stuff.... when DVD-RB finish after about 3-8 minutes. you'll see how match compression you need for this DVD, you now can go to "preview/edit" tab and compress each title to fit your needs.

I found my problem. I had Pro set in the "One Click Mode". The only tab that was active in this mode was the "backup" tab. That is what was confusing me. I didn't understand how to get into the prepare mode. Now the "Prepare" tab is active. I unchecked the "One Click Mode".

Everything is working well (Viewer/Editor). The DVD is in the ROM. I blanked the preview titlsets and kept the rest of the extras. Its encoding now. The next time I use Pro I am going to rip to the hard drive first. I don't like my ROM being used this long to encode. I never knew DVD Rebuilder Pro could be used like to regulate compression and blank specific extras. I thought there were only three options, Movie Only, Movie and Menu, and Movie Menu and extras.

I burned the ISO from Temp folder with ImgBurn and it played well on my standalone DVD player.
