Hi!

When you created the .AVI, what audio format did you use?

@ vkiddv

hi and welcome to the forum!
before you answer setarip_olds question, i would direct you to read the forum rules and also the anouncement at the top of the newbie sub-forum. it may help you avoid any foot-in-mouth comments as a result of this line of questioning.

you can use a program called gspot (use the forum search function) to provide details on the .avi file in question.

@ setarip_old
seriously mate, this is the last time i will warn you about baiting new members. i really do not wish to debate whether you believe what you are doing is baiting, so i will kindly request that you simply avoid posting in ANY threads where your only response is "how did you create the file in question".

got it?

@vkiddv

I just re-read your initial post, in which you say, when i play it on my nero player it works fine. Video and sound. I have Nero ultra enhanced. When i burn it to disc the video works fine, but there is no sound when i play it on my dvd player or the nero player. How do i find out why?Since the original plays with audio on with the NERO player, but the burned DVD is silent when played with the very same NERO player, chances are you failed to include the audiostream when you created the DVD...

Jel - Ty you for your post. I'm obviously new to this. I was giving the .avi so i have no idea how it was created or what is in it. Furthermore, being the dunce that i am at this i would'nt even know how to go about it, but i want to learn. I will check out that program jel. Is there a program that can check to see if an avi has any problems? I've read the rules, i hope i'm following them ty.

Setarip- The .avi plays fine on my nero player, after i burned it to disc ( using nero ) the video worked fine, but the audio does not when played on my set top dvd player that is connected to my TV.
Ok i just checked the burned disc in my pc using the same nero player as u suggested and there is no audio on the pc either. So how would i proceed in adding the audio? Or checking to see if that indeed is the issue?

@Jel i've looked at gspot on the web, i'm running windows media edition/service pack 2/nero software/TSSTcorpCD/DVDW TS-H652L burner with lightscribe. Could u suggest which version of gspot i should DL .... thnx Looks like a good app ....

just grab the latest version from here:
http://www.headbands.com/gspot/v26x/index.html
v. 2.60 RC1
there is also a "super quick start for newbies" guide.

unfortunately i will have to close this thread as the avi was not created by you, and, as per the anouncement, we can not provide assistance with material you do not own, or that is covered by fair use.

i suggest you contact your friend and ask them how the file was created, which may give you some clues on what to search the forum for, which will most likely give you your answer.

good luck
