Hi guys. I have been searching and I can't find anyhelp. I created a avi and when I direct stream copied the audio to the video I added WAV instead of compressing the audio like I always do then merge the 2. Can you link me to a post or even help me. I am wanting to split the 2 files so I have the audio and the video files by themselves. I then will use besweet to transcode the wav to mp3 then direct stream copy them together in vdubmod. BTW I allready deleted the original files so I can't use them. Thanks for the help. TM

Hi!
Is there some reason you can't simply use VirtualDub or VirtualDubMOD to do this?

I have been trying but when I use demux it still keeps the avi and jst leaves me an audio file. I need them to be spilt.

If Vdub(Mod) doesn't work try AviMuxGui (http://www.alexander-noe.com/video/amg/)
First extract the audio stream (right-click on audio stream and Save Binary). Then save the .avi with the "No Audio" box ticked. You now have a separate audio + .avi with just the video.

Just recreate the AVI from your source and do it right this time.

Just recreate the AVI from your source and do it right this time. <---- It was a TV cap and I deleted the file allready. I had a brain fart and forgot to transcode the audio.

After you demux the audio, click "Disable" and save the video file in direct copy mode.

The solution is even much more simple, open your .avi in VirtualDubMod, set fullprocessing for audio stream, set compresion data for audio.
Set video for direct copy.
save as new .avi
