Can't open recovery file
artcomm
23rd December 2001, 16:02
After a long night of hard work, the program got to the point where it only needed to:
1) do the part with the subtitles (SVCD Phillips Compliant)
2) make the images
But the Subtitles page had a problem: the subtitle PROGRAM's directory was blank!
I figured: "No problem, fill in for the program's name and path and go to the recovery from crash page"
That I did.
Problem: the file to be opened, even though it's there and contains the following:

----------END OF RECOVERY FILE ---------------
I keep getting the message: "Can't open file"
Of course, I tried every simple thing:
1) rename the recovery file without spaces
2) enclose the file names in quotes inside the recovery file
(I couldn't think of any other thing that I should have changed).
I'll just wait for a comment on this to determine if I proceed to start all over or I get a suggestion to continue with the two final steps.
By the way, I have noticed that the default applications paths are not being automatically found...
To the author of dvd2svcd: GREAT PEACE OF WORK, PERSON!

I would just hate to have to go through all this once more. Take a look at all the files in the directory (plust the subtitles...):
A job that started at 22:39 last night and was not over until 7:20 AM this morning. Would you not try to recover this? I tried executing the command line where it failed, but I got another error (something about the .bmp files not being correct or correctly formatted).
Any HINTS in the direction of not having to go through this again would be greatly appreciated...

Just go to the Subtitle Tab, point the submux inputfiles to submux.exe and make a crash recovery from SVCD Authoring.
artcomm
24th December 2001, 00:11
That's exactly what I did.
However, at the Misc. Settings Tab (where the Crash Recovery BUTTON is located), when I hit "Crash Recovery", I got a
message box
containing the following message:
dvd2svcd (upper - window title)
red circle with X inside
to the red of the red circle and the X, this legend:
File not found
and the button to ACCEPT.
smiller667

Sounds like dvd2svcd still doesn't know about the location of submux:
Executing SubMux. Commandline:
"" -s0 "C:\dvd2svcd\bbMPEG_Muxed_File00.mpg" "C:\dvd2svcd\subs\es1-1.sub" "C:\dvd2svcd\bbMPEG_Muxed_File-subbed00.mpg" is really a bit hard to execute after all :).
To verify this, open your dvd2svcd.ini file and check the path ...
