Hi,

I've been converting .avi files to DVD for a while now (using DVD2SVCD with CCE) and have noticed that occasionally I'll get a DVD with an incredible volume range. So much so that I have to increase and lower the volume control on my DVD player to compensate while the film is playing. During normal speach it sounds like whispering and during the action scenes I'm almost blown out of my chair. This doesn't seem normal to me and I'm wondering if there isn't something I'm not doing right during the conversion. Thanks.

This doesn't seem normal to meHave you played the original DVD (in the same player) to see if it exhibits the same behavior?

I don't have access to the original DVD. This is a conversion from an avi file. The avi plays fine.

Karlmoll: From what you say, it seems apparent that it is DVD content you are converting, but content from a DVD you do not own. If this is the case, it does not fall in line with Doom9 forums' description of "Fair Use" in the context of copyrighted content.

Please re-read the forum rules (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm) and this announcement (http://forum.doom9.org/announcement.php?f=6) from the Newbies forum.

I have closed this thread as a result of the apparent rule violation. If you feel you have been unfairly treated, please PM me with details of what you are converting and, if appropriate, I will reopen the thread. If you are indeed in violation of the rules, let it lie and just consider yourself lucky to have escaped a strike. Repeat offences won't attract such leniency.

Regards
Nick
