Trouble with The Devil Wears Prada

I was curious if anyone was having trouble backing this one up? It wont go through shrink thats no big deal because it happens sometimes. I tried to take it through DvdFab Decrypter and it locks up about half way through. I never have any problems with DVD Fab with anything!! Any help would be awsome

Hi!

The Region 1 version of "The Devil Wore Prada" contains no newer or special copy protection (e.g. "RipGuard" or "ARccOS").

I used ONLY DVD Decrypter v.3.5.4 to successfully rip the DVD (and then used DVD2One to compress it)

Try cleaning the disc. If you still can't successfully rip it, I'd suggest you return it to the place of purchase in exchange for a new replacement.

Yea I tried Decrypter and it still locked up. So it proably is the disc.

I know ISOPuzzle isn't meant to be a DVD ripper per se but I ran into a disc read error with DVDD on an old DVD. It was a little scratched up. Even after cleaning I had problems. I used ISOPuzzle and it worked great.

My dad says he can't rip this one either without some kind of error half way through. He tried both DVD Fab and AnyDVD+DVDD with no success. I'll try it myself tomorrow.

I suspect that this is just a bad batch of discs - I just hope they're not all bad.

That's weird I had no problems with the Devil wears prada. But I have had problems with random dvds such as wedding crashers and Lords of Dogtown. I'm using DVD Fab too, but usually if I unistall and re-install everything works fine. try that.

Both Wedding Crashers and LODT were protected by ARccOS/RG.

I have two burners - a Sony and Memorex drive. Strangely enough, 3 attempts each with DVDFab and DVDDecrypter failed at the same spot described here on the Sony drive. Put Devil in the Memorex drive and DVDFab ripped it with no problems on the first try.

I have run into issues where some drives worked better than others for ripping certain movies. I have several NEC DVD burners and the oldest one of the bunch seems to be the most reliable for ripping (I believe it's a model 2500). It's also the only one that seems to work with 6x DVD-RW discs for erasing the discs (my 3520 simply chokes when asked to erase them).

I found that I've only had to muck around with a couple of ARccoS discs since they were introduced. I use DVDFab Decryptor and always keep current with the latest version. Since I started using it full time I've never had a disc it wouldn't decrypt. I used to use DVD Decryptor until the newer forms of encryption were introduced and discovered it no longer worked with these discs.

I had the same problem with a region 1 disc. Both RipitForMe 1.6.3.0 and DVDFab Decrypter 3.0.5.0 would fail on main film vob VTS_06_03. Tried 2 DVD drives in one computer and finally got success with trial version of DVDFab Platinum 3.0.5.5 on another computer. Maybe the drives were the problem?

Quite possibly the drives/PC. That VOB is right in the middle of the movie and would be very unlikely to carry any advanced protection.
