View Full Version : More Problems with DVD Lab Pro Chapter Play Lists!!

And just when I thought the DVD was done three new problems come up.

1) Sometimes the DVD freezes when going from one chapter to another - and I don't mean for one or two seconds but 10-15 seconds. Sometimes it plays fine without any interruptions even if the branches are very far apart and sometimes it freezes as above even when they are close to each other.

2) Sometimes the last branch won't play at all!

3) My biggest problem. I need the chapters to be very close to each other. All I frames are set correctly. 5 chapters need to be 7 seconds apart and DVD Lab Pro won't let me do it. The shortest time it will allow me to place chapters close to each other for a 3 hour movie is 12 seconds.

Any help would be much appreciatted.

You cant do more than 99 chapters per movie (DVD specification).

I don't think that's the problem. This is the same movie I posted about last time. The "big" movie would have 51 chapters and each chapter list would have seven pieces.

Tried import a chapter file?

Yes - I tried both importing and doing it manually. There seems to be one thing that partially works. Adding the chapters at the intervals it allows and then moving them to the required position with "move chapter point to next I frame". But sometimes DVDLab freezes after I do it and I never managed to compile the DVD this way. It stops after muxing the big movie.

OK! problems fixed as follows:

1. Seems to occur if many small chapters are placed near each other in the vob. I solved this by editing the video and placing small chapters in between longer ones. Not elegant but the result is exactly what I was looking for.

2. Problem misteriously vanished after doing (1).

3. Using move to next I frame while often causing crashes of DVD Lab Prto finally did work (time to fix these bugs Oscar or whatever your name is author of DVD Lab Pro!!)
