I was meaning, more about the capabilities with regards to xvid/b-frames, any firmware updates, that kind of thing ;) Thanks anyway though SeeMore.

I was meaning, more about the capabilities with regards to xvid/b-frames, any firmware updates, that kind of thing ;) Thanks anyway though SeeMore.MediaTek's chip-set is most capable at supporting all manner of B-VOP encoding variations, with or without packed bit-stream.
Can't help you with regard to firmware releases.... Who knows what firmware release policies individual player manufactures have.... Indeed, many player manufacturers don't issue firmware updates at all :eek:
It may be worth mentioning that, even the best chip-sets can be dragged down by poor firmware!

Yeah, Lafayette's website is less than helpful, i've been considering getting the firmware off of the player, but I don't have time to open it up and build a serial cable at the moment. Thanks for your help anyway :)
