why does divx not encode with b frames in 1 pass fixed quantizer mode ? I ticked the b frame option and it doesn't seem to do anything. ie when i load up drf analyser there are no b frames :p

With multiple b-frames I get max. 10% b-frames. Same settings like dukey. Not very much... Something's broken ?

//edit: seems to be a problem with DRF-Analyzer and newer divx-Versions. Tried the same with mpeg4modifier and the number of b-frames seems to be o.k.. (about 40%-50%)

both mpeg4mofied and the drf analyser give me the same results
ie
Packed bitstream: No
QPel: No
GMC: No
Interlaced: No
Aspect ratio: Square pixels
Quant type: H.263
FourCC: DX50
User data: DivX503b1920
I-VOPs: 199 (3.13%)
P-VOPs: 6159 (96.87%)
B-VOPs: 0 (0.00%)
S-VOPs: 0 (0.00%)
N-VOPs: 0 (0.00%)
I've tried a few different videos, i get the same results every time.
I normally use xvid to encode all my videos, using something like quantizer 3 for I/P frames and quant 5 for B frames. I would like to do this with divx too, simply because it has a working VBV with 1 pass mode.

Okay i figured it out :)
The video i was encoding to test .. divx didn't want to put ANY b frames in it. Not sure why, probably cause it was a noisy video.
The drf anaylser gives me totally different numbers for b frames compared to the mpeg4modifier tool (ie none :p). Not sure why either, but i encoded another video and got a normal number of b frames. I confirmed this with the mpeg4modifier tool. I assume it is accurate :)

If you unselect "packed bitstream", it will not report back any b-frames.
