Any Opera users had this prob using forum ??

Hi,

Up until about 24 hours ago i've been using opera (win32, ver 6.0 final, registered) to post to this forum with no problems.

Now tho, if I log-in, post a message then press the preview or submit buttons, it takes me to the "ur not logged in" screen and i lose whatever i typed when i go back ( grrr ) - and yeah, i have logged in properly before you ask!

This doesnt actually happen all the time, but the only think that seems to fix it is closing the forum window completely and
re-logging back in.... then the same thing happens, sometimes.

I use a cookieblocker, cookie pal. Its set to admit cookies from
rilanparty.com, so im preety sure its not that.

My workaround at the mo is to ensure i copy all the stuff ive written to clipboard and paste it back when ive re-logged in. To be quite honest im starting to grind my teeth about this, its really annoying me.

Any ideas how to fix ?? (aside from use IE - shudder :| )

I'm using Opera as well and I haven't had any problems posting. The only thing that happens to me is that I'm occasionally not logged in when I start the forum site (cookie not read). But then I log in manually and no probs. But as you said you're sure that you're logged in properly so I don't know what else could be the cause.

I use a cookieblocker, cookie pal.
I'm sure this is your problem. I'm using Opera since version 5.11 and I never had problems ( at the moment I'm using 6.0 ) so far. I don't use a cookieblocker and my Opera is set to always accept cookies. Ok a bit dangerous but usually don't surf to dangerous sites ;).

It seemed to happen mostly when I am not logged in (apparently the cookie was not set or read properly) and type a reply - it prompts me to log in, but then gives me the error message you posted.
This is the only VBB where I have experienced the problem, albeit sporadically - and it seems to be getting less frequent lately. One thing that seems to help is login on the front page of the forum before attempting to post anything.
Alternatives? Netscape 6.1x - it is quite nice. I still prefer Opera, though.

Why don't you use the Cookie Blocker already buit into Opera, it really is quite good. It will even tell you if a site try's to deliver a illegal cookie.

Thanks for the tip, seems to have worked - hasn't happened again so far - fingers crossed tho ! I think it will as its was perfect up until recently then suddenly that problem started occurring.

Yeah, tis good. I just find cookie pal a bit easier to use
and a lot more full featured. Also, cookie pal blocks cookies for IE and Opera + lots of other apps - u can add any app to its block list theoretically.
