Hello!

i've recently discovered that there are actually quite a lot of harddisc storage devices on the market with playback features, even with DVI (yes, they are out for a while but some people, like me, are slow with the news, hehe)

anyway i checked the MODIX HD-3520, the MVix-760HD, DACOS N35 etc. they all look pretty good, but none of them lists the x264 codec in their supported-codecs-list. i've seen some support codecs like M2P, M2V, TP, TRP (never heard those before?!), and some support HD-resolutions up to 1080i, but i guess that does not mean "h264 support", right?

also i've not seen any player listing OGM and MKV containers in their supported list.

are there other players out who support h264/OGM/MKV? i've also discovered the neuros OSD but it has no DVI output and therefore is rather uninteresting for me.

who can give me infos? :=)

thanks in advance!

I asked a similar question in this topic: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=118738

According to the reply from cacepi: At the moment, the only player that can handle AVC content is the Playstation3.

to answer myself: i bought a d-link boxee box some time ago, it supports virtually all codecs that exist and is generally a great device.
hope this recommendation helps someone....
