Since a few days/weeks all my videos play to dark in every software... except Media Player Classic. I tried many many video players, and even in players which dont need codecs i get a way to dark video playback (like VLC, MPUI)

I really dont know what the cause can be, it seems to be a very weird problem and very annoying also

Even in encoding software which view a small preview (DVD Shrink, VOBBlanker) the video is to dark...

I didnt change something to my settings and dont know if its worth to tell, but i have a NVidea 7600 GT videocard.

And sometimes the video also plays to dark in MPC, but when i reopen it several times, it plays normal again.

Can someone please let me know whats wrong?

Which renderer is MPC set to use? Probably VMR9. (Check under options->output.) Whereas most other players will by default use the overlay renderer. The settings for the hardware renderer should be in the video card driver's controls; I don't have an nvidia around to check, but it's something like video control. You might be able to reset it to normal from there.

It was idd a hardware overlay problem...

Does this mean MPC is the only software which does not use hardware overlay?

PS: it doesnt matter wich overay i choose in MPC, i still got that darkened video...

Are you using more than 1 monitor? (Or perhaps have a TV connected.)

One monitor, and no tv connected (only a tv-card)
