What resolutions should I use for best quality, I know that this is among other things dependent on format and action level...
Any recomendations?

Hi-it depends on lots of things. One thing you can do is use the compressibility check in Gordian Knot. It'll give you a very good idea as to what resolution to use.

with GKnot, from what I've read from other forums and from the guide, that it will give you a range to be in to get the best video and audio. And everytime that I've used it I dont' think that it could get any better, just read the DivX 4 GKnot guide and it will tell you.

I thought it would be a problem but I use the DivX bitrate calculator and use the one they advise.
I did 4 movies now and with neither of them you can see a quality difference with the original DVD (except in some really black scenes).
Nice game by the way for people to impress them with DivX quality.
Let them say which is DVD and which is DivX. :)
See how they GUESS wrong most of the time. (Good for your ego :))
I can even say 'Life of Brian' looks better in DivX then DVD. It's an old recording and on my screen it has some 'ghost' effects which have disappeared in the DivX rip.
DivX (at least DivX4.12) is absolutely stunning!!
