Virtualdubmod – Huge converted AVI file

I have a 700MB avi file with two audio streams. I used Virtualdubmod 1.5.10.2 to get rid of one of the streams (I disabled one in the stream list and did a File - Save as). The new avi file with a single audio stream was 77 Gigabytes long.

How can I get it down to something more reasonable?

I got it now : Select Video->Direct Stream Copy + Save as and that's it.

I capture with a Canopus ADVC-100. I find that if I have to resize, crop etc. and have to use full stream processing that using the Panasonic DV Codec as the compression option produces an AVI file that is about the same size as the original AVI file.
