Hi all, I'm quite new to video editing and I don't really know what certain kinds of video problems are called which makes searching hard. So hopefully one of you guys can point me in a good direction with this problem. My problem is that i am getting these random colored lines on the top of my video.
My capture is from a VHS tape from around 1996 if that is necessary information to diagnose the problem. The entire video is a concert that lasts about 2.5 hours.
I've included a short, 36 MB, clip as a DV avi so everybody can see the problem i am talking about. This clip can be found here.. http://yee.is-useless.org/test.avi
Another question i had concerning this video is that the singers face seems all whited out. I'm not sure if this is due to the spotlight hitting the stage or a vhs problem but if this is fixable it would be great if somebody can point me in a direction on fixing it.
I think it's great there are so many filters freely available it is just to bad that it's so hard to know what kind of filters you need to use when you don't even know what the problem is called....
I'd appreciate any other information that i could use to clean up this video if anybody wants to volunteer information :)
Thanks all!
