Alternative VC-1 encoder?

Hello,

I was just wondering, since VC-1 is one of the new "standards" for HD-DVD, are there going to be any alternative encoders to Microsoft's? For non-Windows platforms, etc.

I remember reading about a VC-1 encoder being developed for the ffmpeg project. I'm not sure what happened to that.

It's mostly functional currently, and available in current ffdshow and mplayer. Not quite ready to play everything, but pretty well optimized.

i'm learning calculous and linear algebra, would u like too see one in the future?:D
