SPDIF question

I have a soundblaster 5.1 connected to a reciever(COAX) and i dont need to choose SPDI output in the divxplayer just choose digital output in the Creative trayicon to get sound.Whats the different if i choose SPDIF output in the divxplayer or will it be the same?

Well if your Dolby Digital light is on while your playing the audio stream then your ok. I'd suspect that there really is no difference in sound just as long as your amp recognizes that it gettings a Dolby audio stream.

Perhaps I'm wrong, I don't use SoundBlaster products.
