Ive got a question on that, I have a TV-out on my grafic card (I think it is one :S), with ~7 pins at bottom and middle and the one larger field at the top for the broad pin.
the s-video plugg I use, to connect to my tv with scart, fits into that tv-out, but 3 holes for pins in the middle of the tv-out remain unused, since the svideo only has 4 pins (2 on each side).
the connection to tv works, but my question is if there could be any kind of quality loss at the transport, when pluggin the s-video directly into the tv-out and let these spaces for 3 pins unused, because I know there do exist some kind of adapters that directly link from 7 pin tv-out to the 4 pin s-video, as it shipped together with dell latitude notebooks for example. my question is if there is any advantage considering the quality when using such an adapter, or is it just redundant in that respect ?
