Restarting my pc

When starting my pc for the first time of the day or if it has been switched of for a couple of hour, on startup I get this message on the screen "prepare to resume from disk...please wait" with a x) above the message. Once I see this I now know that when windows loads up the year, date & time will all be incorrect, 2002 in fact. Does anyone have any idea why this is has started to occur all of a sudden ?

The battery for the motherboard BIOS memory is probably dead. You might want to research the proper procedure for replacing it, as it's easy to do damage if it's not done properly and to the manufacturer's specifications.
